Di Salvo`s Pizzeria & Sub Shop in Warsaw

Back in the mid-70's I was fortunate to know the Di Salvo brothers from Batavia and learned John was in the process of opening his own Pizzeria & Sub Shop in near by Warsaw. I was so excited as I was about 10yrs old & from Warsaw. I couldn't wait for John to open and once he had my entire family and just about every classmate & their friends and family's all fell in love with both the Pizza, wings, subs, and John. Over the decades there have been competitors that have come & gone for no other Pizzeria ever came close to John's sauce recipe or crust quality. Also John didn't cut his large pizzas into triangles, he cut them horizontal & vertical to allow customers who loved inside pieces and other customers who loved outside pieces. You'll have a difficult time finding another Pizzeria anyplace that can measure up to John Di Salvo's pizza sauce & crust recipes.

Prices are outrageous for this area. Food tastes good but nothing special to warrant the prices. They need more specials. My kids do love the pizza...

The thing they call a salad comes in a very, SMALL container!! REALLY!!! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED. DO NOT GO HERE.

It was late and we were starving, since driving thru town stopped to see if anything quick, huge menu, lots of choices, we ordered steak subs as figured good to eat on the road and they melted in our mouths, I also grabbed a slice of pizza as my spouse likes to try from new places, it wasn't as good but considering it is a slice not a fresh pizza I am not saying it was bad, and if did travel with us. The 1 thing that threw me off was waiting on our food a man came in to buy gun raffle tickets to win some handguns, I know I am Canadian and really thought that is inappropriate. I know different cultures but still made me uncomfortable

Saw the sign that said they have been there 42 years, and I figured that meant good pizza. WRONG. You know how they say there's no such thing as a bad pizza? WRONG. The service was blah, the pizza was blah, price ($6 with added mushrooms and a drink) was too high for the limited ingredients they used, and they had a soda machine for drinks with like 3 options. Not a soda dispenser with refills, but a machine you would find at work that shook my pop. I only ate half the pizza, hating it, and thinking I would add my own ingredients at home to make it somewhat better, considering I just spent $6. Even hot banana peppers failed to add enough taste to save this place from a single star. Hoping their subs may be better... Side note: my coworker, who also hated their pizza, says their French fries were good. So maybe they are better for fried foods? To add more clarity, we are from Rochester, where pizza is legit. I would have rather ate Little Caesar's than this, no lie.

Best food in town!!! Wings so good makes you want to kiss your mama pizza was delectable with a special sauce best pizza I’ve ever had !!!

Best Pizza Ever!So im not sure why others rated this pizza low. Maybe they got subs, wings, or something other than pizza. This is the best! Im a foodie. I love and have tried all types of foods. Pizza is my favorite thing. I have been to Italy, Chicago, La, and New York city looking for the perfect pie. Who knew it was in Warsaw, NY in the middle of the country. What can I saw but it’s true. I have to drive 40 minutes or so from Buffalo just to get this pie once every ten years when im in upstate New York.So why this pepperoni pie? It has all four elements perfect. It has the best crispy crust, a tomato sauce that everyone likes not too sweet or too spicy (has to be from Italy),creamy gooey cheese from local farmers (it must be the secret), and then the best pepperoni you have tasted. There isn’t anything to change or make different. So so good!!!!!It’s a must try place.

Food is good a little greasy but other than that never really had a problem.

The zeppolis are amazing! I believe the staff tries very hard to make the best food and give the best service they can.

Always stop by this place on my drive to Toronto. Love the pizza here and they're always open late as well. I initially found this place on my drive up there as it's not too far out of the way. The pizza is HUGE! Absolutely loved it.

The only thing worse than the food was the service. We felt as if we were an inconvenience. Asked for a to go box and the staff member mumbled "these people" then tossed one my way. Steak sub on a cold hot dog roll? No thank you. Waste of time and money.

A hometown favorite. Pickup, delivery, or eat-in. The wings were awesome! Pop from the fountain or by the bottle. Fries and onion rings were perfect. Pay with cash or credit. We should have order a large pizza 😁

First off the pizza is not very good to began with, secondly the flies are so invasive that you'll forget that the pizza taste so shi_ty . I mean they have flies coming at you from all directions, under tables, from the ceiling, out the vents....and this is in mid Winter, I was like what the F_ck are they hibernating in this place.or whay. And some we're those old flies that just kind of fall on you and can barley move...it's gross, do your self a favor, and call an exterminator...

Not the best pizza in western NY. Slices wer terrible. Pre cooked slices with added toppings then re heated in oven. Would not recommend to anyone who truly enjoys pizza.

Solid Pizza on my last visit

Ordered food.. Wanted delivery. Was told a hour. 2 hours later we get soggy limp chicken fingers. Like they microwaved it back up. Fries were same. Wilted lettuce on sub. NEVER going back. Its to bad really no choices out here.. would rather have gas station stuff thanks for the waste of $40.

Best pizza

Well we always try to switch things up. Last night decided to try again... pizza was such a sloppy mess that you couldn’t even find where one piece started and one ended.. cheese and sauce and grease completely coated the top of the box...ordered bbq boneless wings, ended up with either medium or mild.. ordered chicken fingers and fries... they just threw everything together like a mess, had blue cheese spilling everywhere with broken lids. Won’t try from there again. Disappointed to say the least... oh and don’t bother trying to call and complain, they’re either extremely rude or hang up on you.

Pizza was amazing! Had to stay at Warsaw for a few days and had this gem just right around the corner. Eat their twice and both times were great.

We are from North Carolina. We had just left Niagra Fall and wanted to try NY pizza and found this place and were not disappointed. Pizza was awesome.

Just if you didn't have to give a start rating!! Three strikes and you're out!First time got wings, they were swimming in sauce...Second time asked for a toasted sub roll .. Sub came untoasted with no lettuce after repeating the order 3x.Last but not least they have no customer service, no ambition to do anything and are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in Warsaw!

WORSE SUBS we ever received as soon as we opened them right down the cut I had a bug hanging out. Along with that being said they put extra stuff we asked not to that was not apart of our sub order.. never will I waste my $ again

I was charged 50 dollars for a small cheese pizza( that smelled like bad feet ) and 10 wings that were all busted up looking and bruised I think they all have a drug problem as well

Great place to stop along the way if you're looking for a quick bite along the way. The shop is well maintained and the staff there are really helpful. She even took the time to show us what a pizza slice looked like (pretty big), just so we're not buying more than we can eat.:)

Good people, good food

A very average pizza. Good amount of cheese, and sauce decent. The sauce was sweet and was just enough to get the flavor, but I prefer more sauce. The pizza came out VERY HOT that the cheese was essentially liquid but when it cooled off it was good. It was also a tad greasy for my liking, but some napkins absorbed the excess nicely. Overall an average pizza for the price I have seen some reviews say that the restaurant was dirty. For us, this wasn't the case. The restaurant was very clean.
